Sir Nigel, a very refined dragon, is having a classical evening at home. Attired in his elegant smoking jacket, with books and a cup of Earl Grey by his side, he strikes a becoming pose as he listens to his favourite opera. The table enthusiastically accompanies the music on the wireless.
What Real & Muff say about this piece: Many of our friends think that Sir Nigel Smythbe Smoke, the 'Classical Dragon' looks like Real - and he does, a bit. However, he is also very like a large, life size Grizzly Bear who lives in our library. Watson (the bear) is a soft sculpture (composed entirely of man-made materials) that Real's Mom gave us several years ago. She was in a teddy bear store when she spotted him. The sales clerk explained that an artist had created three bears, the Papa, the Mama and the Cub. Someone had purchased Papa and Mama and left the Baby. Well!!! Maxine couldn't stand that, so she bought him and gave him to us.
Watson has a red fez which he wears in Winter and a straw boater for the Summer months. He, of course, has a calabash pipe and since he lives in the library, he is surrounded by books. A couple of years ago I found a wonderful smoking jacket in an antique store and brought it home for Real. However, Watson liked it so much that he immediately put it on and we haven't been able to get him out of it since!
